How to Become an Approved Centre?

MPQC is a dedicated sector-specific Awarding Organisation for the Extractive Mineral Processing & Products Industries. All of our qualifications have been developed in partnership with industry.

MPQC offers a wide range of nationally-recognised vocational qualifications covering England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.  As an Awarding Organisation we are regulated by Ofqual and Scottish Qualifications Authority.

We work with a network of Approved Centres e.g. employers, commercial providers and colleges to award qualifications that are relevant to meet the needs of the sector.

We will provide all the necessary guidance and support to assist potential Centres with the application process with on-site visit/s as necessary.

We have an open and transparent fee structure which is reviewed annually and Centres advised of any price changes in November for implementation as at the 1st January each year.

Once approved, Centres will have the dedicated support services of either our Head Office team and/or their appointed External Verifier. Each EV is fully qualified with knowledge and experience of the Extractive & Minerals Processing Industries enabling them to offer advice and assistance to Centres.

To make life easier for our Centres, MPQC, unlike many Awarding Organisations, does provide all the necessary documentation and assessment systems which Centres are free to use and tailor to suit their own circumstances. In addition, Centres are provided with a dedicated Login on the website where all the latest documents are stored.

We run workshops each year to ensure our Centres are update with the latest developments in the world of qualifications.
